A strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology is vital when learning and practicing ART®. It is strongly recommended that providers take time prior to the courses to study their materials and watch the DVD(s) in order to be prepared for the course itself. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be educational days comprised of 80 percent hands-on work and 20 percent lecture. Instructors will present each protocol and then break into small groups to practice and answer questions. Testing will take place on Sunday mornings and once a provider passes the practical exam, they are considered a Certified ART® Provider.
In order to participate in an Active Release Techniques® Soft-Tissue Management training course, you must be a licensed health care professional with soft-tissue malpractice insurance. In other words, you must be licensed/certified to perform soft tissue treatment on patients/clients.
Some areas of certifications include chiropractors, medical and osteopathic doctors, physical and occupational therapists and assistants, physiotherapists, massage therapists, certified athletic trainers, and students studying towards any of these certifications with proof of enrollment. Please call 888-396-2727 if you have a question in regards to certifications not listed.
To be eligible for the student rate for our courses, we do require proof of enrollment.
Only students who are pursuing their first degree in a healthcare field in which they can become licensed to treat soft-tissue conditions/injuries may receive the student discount. This discount will apply for any courses that occur up to six months after graduation or certification date. Students must attend these courses within that timeframe. If a venue is changed to a date outside of that timeframe, we will ask for the difference in cost.
Courses are for practitioners who treat or manage soft-tissue injuries and conditions. Each participant should have an advanced understanding of anatomy.

All Cancellations / Returns must be made within 90 days from the date of purchase to receive a refund. Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the course start date to receive a full refund. All cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the course start date will be refunded, minus a $100 cancellation fee. All participants who cancel a course and receive a refund must also return the study materials for that course. Due to the personalized nature of the study materials, all returns on study material will incur a $295 return fee. All returns must be cleared through the ART® office and ART® must receive the materials and inspect them before issuing a refund. A "Returned Materials Declaration" must also be signed and returned verifying that the study materials have not been reproduced or distributed. Refunds will be applied to the original credit card or by the original form of payment only. Any attendance to a live class voids all seminar refunds, regardless of date of purchase. **IMPORTANT: Functional Movement is paid a portion of the seminar fees for the SFMA certification. Providers who are taking the SFMA portion for the first time will NOT be refunded the Functional Movement fee if they have accessed the required online pre-course material.
